Taneille Crase finished fifth in the heptathlon but made leaps and bounds over previous performances

The Chambers Flat athlete had a strong start on day one of the heptathlon and set new personal records in the 100m hurdles, shot put and 200m.

This continued on day 2 of the event and Crase finished third in the long jump, fifth in the javelin throw and fifth in the 800m.

Both her long jump and 800m results were new personal records and Crase finished the event with a combined score of 6026, another personal best.

Nathan Lowe from Jimboomba Little Athletics said the former club member and coach had done the community proud.

"We're really proud of her achievements," Mr Lowe said.

"She's done well and she's a great role model for Little Athletics, not just in Queensland but across Australia too."
