Artists in Jimboomba and surrounding areas still have time to submit work for the 20th Quota Jimboomba Art Show, set to take place in October.
Work can be submitted across a range of categories and previous winners include Scenic Rim artist Christine Parry and Stockleigh artist Carla Benzie, who credited the event as key to her recent success.
Art show coordinator Brenda Fielding said the event was sure to be a highlight for many local artists as previous instalments had been well-attended.
"We did get a very good turnout last year," Mrs Fielding said.
"A lot of new artists came through last year which was wonderful to see.
"It's always exciting to see everybody turn up, whether they're a new artist or even the old ones. The more the merrier."
Artists are able to submit a maximum of six pieces of work with an entry fee of $10 per piece, or $5 per piece for students.
Categories in this year's show include:
- Traditional art
- Modern art
- 3D art
- Student art
- All abilities
- Photography
- Textile and handicraft
Mrs Fielding said there had been some changes to the judging panel this year, and that the new panel was still very well-credentialed.
"We had the last judge for three years and we thought we'd give him a break," she said.
"I came across this lady who was very good. I have seen her extensive amount of art and it's very good."
The grand opening of the show is at 6:30pm on Friday October 7, and entries will be on display between 9am-2pm on October 8 and 9am-12pm on October 9.
Tickets to the opening night, which include a complimentary drink and light refreshment, cost $20 for adults, $10 for artists and $5 for children aged 16 and under.
Entries for the Quota Jimboomba Art Show close on September 24, with strictly no late entries accepted.
