BEAUDESERT'S own pro boxer Dylan Biggs personally manned the sausage sizzle at a fundraiser held yesterday.
The event was hosted by Beaudesert Golf Club, who also donated a percentage of the day's bar sales to the cause.
The golf day was originally to take place on June 11 but was rescheduled after heavy rains impacted the course.
With registration costing $100 for a team of four, the event attracted an estimated 200 players.
Local businesses including Rowe Electrical, Power Trak Excavations & Civil and Ace Civil Constuctions sponsored a hole each for $200 a pop.
Beaudesert Boxing Club supporters were on hand selling raffle tickets and Team Biggs tee shirts, hats and stubbie holders.
Mulligans selling for $10 each did a roaring trade, as did the $3 sausage sizzle prepared by Biggs himelf under the watchful eye of Mark Rowe.
Beaudesert Boxing Club coach Justin O'Leary said there were 200 golfers who chipped in on the day and just as many who turned up after the sun went down to lend thier support and listen to live music by local Susie Colley.
"It was really good," he said.
"We would have had about 400 people there when Susie was playing her music."
The event was to raise funds for Biggs to take his career to bext level with a fight in the UK.
