Data from insurance brokers shows just how hard areas of Logan and Beaudesert have been hit by wild weather this year compared to other parts of the state.
NRMA Insurance data shows that the Logan-Beaudesert region was ranked third-highest for weather-related home insurance claims, with residents making 149 of the 1571 claims the company received between March and May.
This constitutes 9.5 per cent of the total claims and the most-impacted areas were Loganholme, Jimboomba, Springwood, Beaudesert and Loganlea.
This amount also excludes the flooding at the start of the year, during which NRMA Insurance received 5987 claims against home insurance policies.
RACQ Insurance made similar findings, with a total of 1675 home insurance claims made across the state during the same period and 138, or 8.2 per cent, of these being made across Logan and Beaudesert.
Executive General Manager for Direct Claims at NRMA Insurance, Luke Gallagher, said it was likely that climate change would lead to even worse weather in the future.
"Over the past two years, Australians have faced some of the most devastating natural disasters and extreme weather in decades," Mr Gallagher said.
"The impacts of a changing climate means that wild weather will continue to be a fact of life."
Mr Gallagher also said more Queensland residents felt prepared to deal with wild weather, but offered some advice for those who were yet to take precautions.
"Taking a few small steps to both reduce our level of risk and prepare for how we will respond can make a big difference when the worst happens," he said.
"This includes having an emergency plan and kit ready, but also making changes to ensure your home is safer, particularly those who live in storm or flood prone areas.
Regularly cleaning gutters to stop water building up, clearing overhanging branches and other simple home maintenance actions can also reduce damage during wild weather."
