The "How to keep it UP-RIGHT" Motorcycle Rider Safety Program is a full day training course for motorcycle riders run by the SMART Rider Academy, in association with the Queensland Police Service.
The program is based on the academy's highly successful SMART Rider Roadcraft course.
The day begins with a classroom session where they will share some valuable and practical information with attendees.
After a morning tea break they'll take everyone out on a road ride through some of the best motorcycling roads in the Logan region.
Riding in small groups, attendees will get personal attention and feedback from one of the academy's experienced instructors that will improve their skills and enjoyment of riding.
They course will help participants learn:
- how they can improve their control over their motorcycle by understanding some basic vehicle dynamics;
- how everyone's brain and vision work together to improve your riding;
- why other road users don't see motorcyclists and what they can do about it;
- how to recognise when one of those "Uh Oh" moments is about to happen, and how to prevent it; and
- how to choose the best riding gear.
Most importantly participants will learn how they can maximise their riding enjoyment while minimising their risks.
The course will cost $50 per person and be held on Saturday, January 22 from 9am to 4pm at Jimboomba State School.
