A SEVERE thunderstorm warning has been issued for Logan and the Scenic Rim, with the Weather Bureau predicting damaging winds and hail for this afternoon.

Severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Caboolture and Harrisville at 1.30pm.
They are expected to affect Peak Crossing by 2pm and Bundamba Lagoon by 2.30pm.
A general severe thunderstorm warning has also been issued for the south-east coast and inland parts of the state.
The warning for Logan and the Scenic Rim was issued about 1.30pm.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services is again urging people to move cars undercover and away from trees, secure loose outdoor items and seek shelter indoors.
