Jimboomba gymnasts have returned from a Gold Coast competition with regional champions medals.
The Jimboomba athletes competed in the Gold Coast Regional Challenge on Sunday, and did well, despite missing three weeks of training because of the COVID-19 community sport lockdown.
Daniela Novak won the level 6 open section, while teammate Leonie Meadlarkin finished in second place overall.
Jimboomba took a clean sweep in level 3, with Reese Haxton winning, Lily Popov finishing second and Summer Taylor taking third. Alissa Meale came fifth.
Jimboomba has 12 athletes in action at the Gymnastics Queensland Junior State Championships, on the Gold Coast, September 22-23.
Club coach Callie Wall said it was a record for Jimboomba.
"The previous record was 11, so we're slowly chipping away at it, adding more people every year," she said. "We really didn't expect so many to qualify this year because of the lockdown."
