Jimboomba police praised residents who came to help more than 20 people after a serious accident on Mundoolun Road.
Residents and passers-by rushed to the horrific scene when a minibus collided with a car on Sunday morning.
The accident left two drivers trapped and multiple people injured. Two rescue helicopters and a number of ambulances went to the scene.
Brave onlookers helped before emergency services arrived.
"At least 10 people stopped to help," Sergeant Lawrie Catterson said.
"We had neighbours offer blankets and water bottles.
"It was a very traumatic scene, but having all those people there to help reassured the people on the bus that emergency services had been contacted and help was on the way."
