THE global pandemic has claimed another local event, with the announced cancellation of the Beaudesert Show.
This follows the cancellation of the Ekka and the Beenleigh Show, both of which are also important events for Logan and Scenic Rim producers and businesses.
The Beaudesert Show has been impacted by circumstance several years in a row, with last year's planned 125th anniversary celebration also cancelled by COVID.
In 2019 the show took place as the region was about to be flattened by the Black Summer bushfires, triggering the last minute cancellation of the popular fireworks display.
The Beaudesert Show Society posted the announcement on Facebook.
"It is with heavy heart the Beaudesert Show Society management committee have decided the 2021 Beaudesert Show cannot proceed due to the current COVID-19 regulations," they said
"The committee did not take this decision lightly but the health and safety of our community is always first and foremost ... now is not the time to hold a large event."
The show committee said it would contact all ticket holders, entrants, members, stall holders and sponsors to personally think them and discuss refunds.
