3.20pm update
A MAN is feared drowned after venturing into a dam off the Logan River to retrieve a remote controlled boat this afternoon.
Police and fire crews were called to the scene off Sebring Park about 12.30pm.
Officers said the elderly man paddled out on an inflatable raft to try and retrieve his craft.
Swift water trained firefighters entered the water to look for the man.
Logan District's Senior Sergeant Deon Ditton said some friends watched the man enter the water, but he did not resurface.
"The witnesses who were with him today saw him go into a little inflatable raft," Senior Sergeant Ditton said.
"We do have that raft, it has resurfaced, but at this stage, unfortunately the male is still missing.
"We obviously have grave concerns for his welfare."
