MORE severe thunderstorms are a possibility today after heavy rain lashed parts of the south-east last night, with 38mm dumped in half an hour at Boonah and 51mm at Forestdale.
The Weather Bureau issued several warnings late last night as severe cells formed in the south-east, bringing with them a spectacular lightning show.
Almost 1500 Energex customers are without power this morning, including 1200 in the Logan City Council area alone.
Woodhill (570 customers), Cedar Vale (440) and Veresdale (184) are the worst affected.
A total of 19.4mm fell in all at Beaudesert to 9am this morning, while the Redlands recorded just 3mm at the Alexandra Hills weather station and 3.6mm at Ormiston.
It was a different story in other parts of the city, with Mount Cotton and Victoria Point copping heavy falls about 10.30pm last night.
The North Stradbroke Island station recorded 39mm and Karragarra 10mm, according to the Weather Bureau.
Meteorologist James Thompson said severe thunderstorms were possible for the south-east again today, with hail a chance as an upper low enters the region.
There is a 95 per cent chance of 5-15mm falling between 1pm and 4pm in the Redlands, while 4-10mm is possible during the same period at Logan and Beaudesert.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Redlands, Logan and the Scenic Rim this morning but has been rescinded.
The Weather Bureau said the situation would continue to be monitored and further warnings would be issued if necessary.
