Roar looking to reign at home in A-League

Seventh-placed Brisbane's 2-1 away win over Western Sydney on Friday moved them to within two points of the Wanderers, the team immediately above them, with three games in hand.

The Roar play three of their next four fixtures at home but have performed better on the road this season, where they have collected 14 points from eight matches. That tally included back-to-back away wins over Macarthur and the Wanderers.

At home Brisbane have tallied nine points from seven fixtures, but haven't won in their last four home games, since early February.

"Whilst it's nice to play at home in front of our fans our record at home is not as good as we'd like it to be," Moon said.

"So that's something we can strive for and look to improve on and no better way to start than next week against Perth.

"Games in hand are great but you've got to make the most of them."

"What's important for us is the games just played and two wins in a row in Sydney and two good teams we've beaten, so that's a great confidence boost for the boys."

Moon acknowledged that while the back-to-back wins in Sydney was a confidence boost for his side, external expectations and ratings of Brisbane may not be as high.

"I wouldn't say we're the most fancied team, I'm not sure if people really expect us to do anything this year anyway," he said.

"We certainly are confident in what we've got as a group."

Captain and defender Tom Aldred came off the ground with a hamstring injury in the first half on Friday, but Moon said the setback might be more of a neural issue.

"It might not be too severe, but we'll have to wait until we get back to Brisbane and assess it and see how bad it is," the Roar coach said.

Japanese player Riku Danzaki's winner on Friday was his third goal in his past three games and his sixth for the season.

"He's going well, he's always in the right place, right time. He can still get better, which is pleasing for us and our fans," Moon said.
