GWS will seek to extend an impressive recent run at the SCG on Saturday, when their new-look forward line faces a stern test in their AFL derby with Sydney.
The Giants have recalled Sam Reid, and retained veteran ruckman and former Swan Shane Mumford in their team.
Sydney have replaced injured stars Dane Rampe and Isaac Heeney with Lewis Melican and Will Hayward.
GWS have won three of their past four clashes with Sydney at the Swans' home ground, including a lopsided elimination final in 2018.
They will confront a notably different opposition this weekend, when the undefeated Swans aim for a fifth win that would mark their best start to a season since 2012.
GWS's squad has also undergone significant change since the preceding SCG derby in 2019, with almost a third of Leon Cameron's side steeling themselves for their first taste of the rivalry at AFL level.
The Giants trained at the SCG on Friday morning, when the Swans were relegated to Tramway Oval on the other side of Driver Avenue.
Key forward Harry Himmelberg says GWS can draw confidence from their SCG form, having adapted to the venue's unique dimensions in recent years.
"It's their domain and we're looking to knock them off ... it's becoming quite a rivalry," Himmelberg said.
"We've had some good results here lately. Obviously coming from the MCG last week, it's such a big ground and you have to refine the game plan a bit.
"We've also played the Swans a few times in pre-season, so we've had a good look at them and some of those young players."
Himmelberg and stand-in skipper Toby Greene have shouldered an extra burden in the Giants' forward line following the departure of 2019 Coleman medallist Jeremy Cameron.
"We'd had some good success when Jez had been injured etc in the past so we knew that we could function without him," Himmelberg said.
Greene, coming off a pair of five-goal hauls, looms as the most potent threat for a back line that will sorely miss co-captain Rampe (broken finger).
"Toby's been in great form," Swans defender Harry Cunningham said.
"He's a quality player. It's going to take a team effort to stop him.
"You can't replace Dane. He's such a great player and leader, he really sets us up and gets to work, so everyone will have to lift their standards and help fill that void a bit."
Swans co-captain Luke Parker backed his side's young guns to shine during their first derby.
"No doubt there will be a few fierce contests. The main thing is for them to not shy away from that," Parker said.
