TY AVERY'S starring role was not enough for his team to record a win in the first round of the new Last Man Stands season on Sunday.
Avery bagged a half century, scoring 55, and took 3-28, but Photos for Mum could not get over the line against Hit and Run.
Hit and Run scored 6-120 in chasing down Photos for Mum's 7-118 in Division 1.
The other two winners in Division 1 were Boundary Chasers, who beat Lumberjacks, and Beauy Bucheurs, who were too good for Middle Stumped.
Now or Never B had a huge win over Odd Bunch in Division 2.
Now or Never B won by 95 runs, after restricting Odd Bunch to 8-64.
Up Yours beat the Cuddle Koalas by two runs in a tight contest.
Up Yours scored 5-147 and Cuddle Koalas scored 4-145 in reply.
Yarrabilba Cane Toads won their match over No Limits by four wickets.
The Cane Toads easily accounted for No Limits' 8-77 target.
Duck Duck Gone beat Flaggy Baggies by 21 runs.
They scored 3-137, while the Baggies could only manage 3-116 in reply.
Bats Both Ends also won their match, beating Lion Rangers by five wickets.
Bats chased down 5-116 with just three wickets down.
Window Lickers beat the Trouble Makers by three wickets in the other match.
The Trouble Makers scored 4-115, but Window Lickers chased down the total, five wickets down, to win the contest.
Bushies' strong start in kids T20
JIMBOOMBA Bushrangers' kids have made a strong start to Last Man Stands cricket, winning a trial match against Greenbank Gorillas on the weekend.
Jimboomba won by 20 runs, with strong performances across the board.
Kie Specogna took three wickets and Riley Benstead scored 25 runs in Jimboomba's innings.

There is still time for parents to sign their kids up.
The games are short, and over in just two hours.
"Nice and quick," Jimboomba manager Melissa Benstead said.
Batters must retire on 30. In the trial matches, they were allowed to face 15 balls at the crease.
It costs $12 per child per game to play, and playing shirts are provided.
The Jimboomba kids have another friendly match this weekend, before the season starts in May.
