Australian rugby league's greatest legend and most loved character Tommy Raudonikis has died aged 70.
Raudonikis, a NSW blue through and through, who has lived much of his life in Queensland, died in the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Former coach Roy Masters described Raudonikis as perhaps rugby league's most loved character.
Raudonikis had battled cancer for many years.
He was with his partner Trish Brown when he died six days short of his 71st birthday early today.
As tough as steel, Raudonikis was given the nickname Tommy Terrific.
A battler, he was a much loved son of Sydney's Western Suburbs and Newtown clubs.
He had testicular cancer and other ailments for about 30 years.
