BEAUDESERT saleyard's last hurrah has been postponed until Monday, March 29.
Peter Hayes from Hayes & Co said he was going to go ahead with the much anticipated event but the weather had scuppered plans.
"We were all ready to go but I've heard there's water everywhere in Beaudesert," he said.
"We will have a sale next Monday instead."
Mr Hayes said he had considered running another sale next week anyway, after a request from regulars to the sales who live on the Gold Coast, where flooding has made road travel difficult.
The lease on the Helen Street saleyard expires on March 31.
The event today was expected to draw a large crowd of supporters to mark what many have described as the end of an era.
The issue generated national media attention after Scenic Rim Regional Council appealed the recently announced Heritage status of the saleyard and decided not to renew the lease on the property due to health and safety issues.
