A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said local firefighters responded to reports of a power pole and grass on fire near Beaudesert Nerang Road and Brooklands Drive.
The spokeswoman said the incident was caused by lightning strike.

Another storm-related incident saw a tree across the road on the Mount Lindesay Highway near Tullamore Way.
The QFES spokeswoman said there was no hazard evident and firefighters handed the job over to Scenic Rim Regional Council.
Thousands of households were without electricity, including at Kooralbyn, where the power was out until about 8pm, leaving many concerned that they would also lose mobile phone coverage, which only lasts for four hours after a power outage.
