Jimboomba Little Athletics Club will have 35 athletes heading to McDonald's State Champs in Nathan next month.
This comes after the athletes braved the heat to compete in the Nordic Sport South East Regional Championship earlier this month.
The club sent 55 athletes to compete at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre and more than half will be heading back to the same venue on March 19 to face tough competition.
JLAC centre manager Monic Hamilton said athletes will be coming from all over Queensland to see who is the best in field and track events including javelin, discus and shotput.
She said the team fared well at regional champs with U12 athlete Mia Chizzoniti narrowly missing breaking a 800m record.
The record is 2:34.15 and Mia finished 2:34.24.
"For many of our athletes it was their first time at a major competition and they made personal bests and did their club proud.
Eight athletes made it through for all of their five events. They are: Erin Gallagher, Alex Hamilton, Hudson Hunt, Hailey Herewini, Oliver Lowe, Connor McLeod, Jackson Rushton and AWD athlete Peter Flaherty.
The club has three of the youngest athletes on their state team. Charlotte Fielding, Oliver Lowe and Chase Hamilton are only 8-years-old.
