I am nervous, these are proper cricketers
- Scott Bannan
THE teams are in for this weekend's Pink Stumps Day fundraiser, and some big names are taking to the pitch at Glenlogan Park.
Ex-Test cricketers Michael Kasprowicz and Ryan Harris are playing for the All Stars team in the big match which starts at 7pm Saturday.
They will line up alongside Australia's Last Man Stands captain Sam Lang and Nathan Reardon.
The team also features local boxing legend Clay Waterman, former NRL star Karmichael Hunt and Intrust Super Cup player Christian Hazard.
That side is captained by Division 9 councillor Scott Bannan.
"I am nervous, these are proper cricketers," he said of the former Test players.
"Obviously, I have the physicality, and the more skilled side."
Harris and Kasprowicz each took 113 Test wickets for Australia.
Linus Power and Chance for Change campaigner Nathan St Ledger will be on the microphone, revving the crowd up and sledging the players during the match.
"There will be some sledging going on," Bannan said.
Legendary fast bowler Jeff Thomson and former Queensland cricketer Jimmy Maher will also mingle with the crowd.
The pair are expected to be popular with punters at the event.
Bushrangers captain Tom Jellie was sold to the All Stars team in a bid to raise a further $1000 for the cause.
Organisers aim to raise $15,000 for the McGrath Foundation this year, after donating $10,000 at last year's event.
Jimboomba's team, captained by Bushrangers president Rodney Teese, features local players like Shannon White, Phil Bourke and Rob Lose.
Teese said the biggest aim of his team was to help raise money for the cause.
"It's not about winning or losing on the night," he said.
"But yeah, we will win."
Bannan urged everyone to get down to the night, with gates opening at 4pm.
"We're going to blow it [last season's total] out of the water," he said.
"Let's show the country that the Jimboomba district is the biggest hearted community out there."
Kids can get access to some of the cricketers' knowledge of the game at a coaching clinic at Glenlogan Park from 3.30pm Friday.
The night will raise vital funds for the McGrath Foundation to place breast care nurses in hospitals across the country.
Auctions and raffles will take place throughout the event.
They bring patients and family peace of mind through knowledge and compassionate care.
The foundation funds more than 150 nurses across Australia.
