AMBITIOUS organisers aim to raise a further $5000 at this year's Pink Stumps Day, after smashing through the $10,000 in support of the McGrath Foundation in 2020's bumper event.
They have put the call out for businesses to again come on board and help them raise plenty of cash as they aim to reach $15,000.
The vital money will support cancer victims across Australia.
"The work that the breast care nurses do is unbelievable," Jimboomba Bushrangers Cricket Club president Rodney Teese said.
Businesses who donate more than $500 before Australia Day will get prime position on flyers and posters across town.
Teese and Division 9 councillor Scott Bannan will also do weekly videos to promote the event and sponsors in the lead up to the big match on February 20.
The pair will pick teams to take on each other in the 10 over, eight a side event.
"The banter has already started between Scott and myself," Teese said.
There will be added drama this year, with cameras to film the action at Glenlogan Park.
A tripod will be set up at the bowler's end, while another camera will focus on the action from the boundary.
Teese said he planned to put a Go Pro on umpire Damien Mealey's head.
The popular cent auction will return, while plenty of McGrath memorabilia will be raffled.
A shirt signed by the fast bowling legend fetched $563 last year - the number of Test wickets the fast bowling legend took.
"The McGrath Foundation have some extra goodies for us to raffle and auction," Teese said.
Garth Weatherall will return to wield the hammer.
There will be a sponsors area with free drinks and food to thank those who contribute to the cause.
Teese said this year had an added focus, after a dour 2020 took its toll on residents everywhere.
"After the year we have had in 2020, we wanted to build a good community event and make it even better than last year's," he said.
"We hope to have double the people that were there last year, when we had 200-250.
"There will be a bigger grassed area on the hill there for people to bring their picnic rug and chair.
"We will have at least one ride, and a couple of jumping castles for the kids."
The Bushrangers are back in action on Saturday after the temporary lockdown ended hopes of getting on the pitch last weekend.
The first 11 will take on Logan Village at Newstead Park, Buccan. Gold hosts Beaudesert on the turf at Glenlogan Park while Green plays Greenbank at Malling Park, Waterford.
