India have an injury concern leading into the first Test with Ravindra Jadeja suffering a hamstring injury in their Twenty20 win over Australia.
Jadeja's concussion overshadowed the entire result, after he top-edged a Mitchell Starc bouncer into his helmet in the final over of India's innings.
Australia were left questioning whether Yuzvendra Chahal was a fair like-for-like replacement, before the legspinner took three crucial wickets in the win.
But the drama at Manuka Oval should not overshadow what shapes as a potentially big blow for India's Test hopes.
Jadeja required treatment on his hamstring in the 19th over of the T20 match - and while he whacked 24 runs from his final seven balls he struggled to run between the wickets.
India remained upbeat about his injury on Friday night but he will have just 12 days to recover to play in the first Test at the Adelaide Oval.
"He is doing better than we expected," batsman Sanju Samson said.
Jadeja is India's chief allrounder, having taken 213 wickets at 24.62 while averaging 35.26 with the bat.
The tourists are already without Rohit Sharma for the first two Tests due to his own hamstring issue and quarantine challenges, while quick Ishant Sharma will also miss with abductor issues.
