RUGBY enthusiasts at Flagstone State Community College were treated to a professional coaching session from two former Broncos last week.
Matt Gillett, a former Maroon who played for the Broncos between 2010 and 2019, and Jack Reed, who was part of the team between 2011 and 2016, visited the school on Wednesday, to the excitement of sport-loving students from Year 8 to Year 11.
Among the participants were students interested in rugby league, Year 9 sports performance classes and Year 11 rec students.
In two and a half hours, Gillett and Reed shared advice about personal branding and took students through physical drills to improve their passing and catching.
A school spokesperson said students loved the training program and were looking forward to more sessions in 2021.
"Students have been learning about coaching in classes and this program helped to reinforce this learning," the spokesman said.
"Flagstone is looking forward to further collaboration in 2021."
It came as former players visited schools around the south-east as part of the Brisbane Broncos Game Development team.
David Stagg and Wayne Weekes put students through their paces at Tamrookum State School last week.
