It's gruesome this global coronavirus league table curation. But with COVIDiots roaming the earth, there probably is a need for updates.
One sometimes stuffy British newspaper even has a weekly update of its very own "Covidiocy Chronicles" which details some of the truly outrageous behaviours of not just the rich and famous but the wannabe role models, too.
Overnight some large and frightening milestones were hit. In the 10 months since what began as a mystery virus struck down people in Wuhan, China, COVID-19 has killed more than one million people worldwide.
There are fears coronavirus may already have overtaken tuberculosis and hepatitis as the world's most deadly infectious disease. And, don't forget, the pandemic is far from over yet.
There have been more than 200,000 deaths in the United States, the largest total number of coronavirus deaths in the world, ahead of Brazil, with over 140,000.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the grim milestones were numbers nobody wanted to see: "This is a pandemic that has been visited upon Australia from outside our shores and is one that has impacted on us greatly."
For the record, Australia has 27,056 cases, there are 523 active right now and, sadly, 882 deaths after another seven deaths in Victoria overnight.
Today the PM raised the possibility of people flying into Australia from overseas being allowed to quarantine at home.
While Victoria's inquiry may have drawn to a close the Senate inquiry today heard from Health secretary Brendan Murphy. He reiterated previous comments about the state of the nation's aged care system and while welcoming reform added that it would take years to fully implement.
You can tell "COVID-consciousness" is winding down as Australia's public servants looks towards getting back into their offices, budget ponderings refer to beer and The Bach is back in the headlines.
