Jimboomba Redbacks' women's team will go into tomorrow's Queensland Football Association women's division 2 grand final relying on their fitness to see them through.
The Redbacks take on Beenleigh in the big dance at Bond University on the Gold Coast, and after last weekend's semi final victory as the underdog, they are confident they can again cause an upset.
The Buffaloes, who drew with the Redbacks back in July, before beating them in their second encounter, have size on their side.
But the Redbacks have the legs to get them through, coach Steve Alford said.
Alford said the key to winning would be in the transition, turning the Beenleigh team around and making them do plenty of work.
"We have to move the ball quickly upfield to catch them off guard," he said.
"They're not as fit as us. They have bigger bodies and more skill.
"They really push up the field and lock the ball in."
The Beenleigh team finished on top of the ladder, and Jimboomba locked in third place, before the Redbacks beat the more fancied Sherwood side last weekend.
"The team that we beat on the weekend beat Beenleigh by 15 points earlier in the season," Alford said.
"It's a very tight competition. Every team is at about the same level."
Apart from long-term injuries to Jess Pickles (wrist) and Amanda Clarke (back) the team is full strength.
Alford had to leave four players out of the side, but was happy to be in a strong position.
"We have four emergencies," he said.
Narelle Smith lauded her team's work ethic in just its first year in the competition.
Smith said their superior fitness would get them over the line, and was confident they had hit their straps at the right time.
"The girls have worked so hard and are in a really good position," Smith said.
"If we play like have in the last two games, we should win."
Alford encouraged clubmates to come down and provide a big atmosphere to help them get the job done..
"We had pretty good support last weekend, and it will probably be the same this weekend," Alford said.
First bounce is at 10am.
