A park in the heart of Jimboomba has had a makeover.
Rotary Park on Johanna Street now has new kids' rides, trees and an upgraded footpath.
Shade sails will be installed in time for the height of summer to keep people cool.
"We had to get them custom made," Division 9 councillor Scott Bannan said.
The work, which Logan City Council funded, cost $467,000. It consisted of councillor discretion funds and money from the Asset Replacement and Major Works Program.
Rotary representatives David Parkins, David Kenny, Gary Begley and Malcolm Strachan were on hand with Cr Bannan to inspect the new facility this week.
Mr Parkins, the Rotary president, welcomed the work.
"Any upgrade only enhances the park and makes it more user friendly for the community," he said.
"With cover going over the area, more trees and shade sails, it will be more comfortable for families using the park in the summer."
Mr Parkins said Rotary had big plans for the area around the park.
"We want to get the whole precinct humming," he said.
"People can come down and look around the buildings while they're here."
Cr Bannan said he was pleased to deliver the upgrade.
"The cool part about it is that it was what the community asked for," he said.
"The park was due for a fresh upgrade."
