Jimboomba Redbacks' season is over after they went down to Morningside Panthers in the elimination semi final on Friday night.
The Panthers were too good for an injury-ravaged Redbacks outfit, winning 10-14-74 to 9-5-59 at Glenlogan Park.
Julian Mandahl booted five majors for the hosts, who roared back into contention after a slow start.
The Redbacks kicked three goals in the second quarter and trailed by nine points at the main break.
Coach Shane Monk gave an impassioned speech in the sheds, urging his players to provide the big moments which would make the difference in the second half.
The Redbacks kicked four goals in the third term, but the 11-point lead Morningside took into the final quarter was too much.
Meanwhile, the senior women thumped Mount Gravatt and have qualified for the finals in their first year.
The women kept the visitors to just one goal in winning 9-11-65 to 1-0-6 in a strong display. Jasmine Fretwell and Aliesha Alford kicked two goals each for the Redbacks, Rosanna Vidoni, Hayley Milne, Larni Milne, Sophie Harkin and Simone Saylor also scored.
