The owners of Sushi Aji recently opened after seeing a gap in the local market for the popular Japanese cuisine.

Six months on and the sushi eatery, in the heart of the Jimboomba shopping precinct, is drawing customers who director Helen Nguyen said were welcoming.

"Jimboomba is a friendly community, lovely people around," said Helen, who has worked with sushi for six years.

Sushi Aji has seven staff who help prepare and sell sushi as well as hot food such as rice bowls, curry, bento and noodle and traditional desserts like mochi ice cream and hand made chocolate mousse.

"We keep food always fresh, tasty and our services always friendly."
