Australia Post is encouraging Australians to become passionate about wildlife as it issues six stamps on the theme of wildlife recovery after last year's bushfires.
Two of the animals featured - the koala and regent honeyeater - were impacted by fires in the Scenic Rim.
Experts says that at least 60 of the 79 families of Australian birds are found in the Scenic Rim.
The stamps highlight some of the nation's most vulnerable native species.
The animals have been selected by the federal government's Wildlife and Threatened Species Bushfire Recovery Expert Panel as in need of immediate conservation management.
Australia Post executive general manager community and consumer Nicole Sheffield said the theme aimed to inspire school students to learn more about Australian wildlife and take a role in protecting them.
"We want this year's stamp collecting month to encourage a lifelong passion for Australian wildlife," she said.
"Alongside the wonderful stamps ... the teaching resources we've developed will encourage education, literacy and a sharing of knowledge about the threats that our wildlife face."
Threatened Species Commissioner Sally Box said the bushfire tragedies highlighted the dangers facing wildlife and she hoped schools and the broader community would get involved.
"The 2019-20 bushfires had a devastating impact on Australian wildlife, and it's great to see stamp collecting month reminding people how precious our native animals are ... and inspiring young Aussies to become our future wildlife conservationists."
