A walking, hiking and riding trail from Logan Village to Yarrabilba is a step closer.
Logan City Council has committed $1.25 million to the $2.5 million trail over the next two years from its 2020-2021 budget.

It comes as detailed planning of the trail nears the end of the line.
The 3.5km trail will be built on a disused rail spur line, which was transferred to council as road reserve. It is flanked mostly by natural bushland.
Delivery of the rail trail was a key priority project identified from the Logan Village Forum hosted by council in March 2018.
Feedback from the forum indicated there would be significant economic benefits for Logan Village through a direct connection with the growing and neighbouring community of Yarrabilba.
Preparations for the trail have been significant and included a comprehensive feasibility study.
Council's $2 million Logan Village Implementation Fund in June 2018 also included an allowance for design of the trail, but not construction.
In April last year, a further $200,000 funding grant was secured through the state government's Rail Trail Local Government Grants program to finalise the feasibility study and detailed design of the trail.
The additional funding by council in the budget towards construction - combined with the study and design preparations - is expected to put the proposed trail in a good position to be eligible for state and federal funding opportunities as a pandemic recovery capital works project.
Flagstone hub offer
Money to support a Flagstone community hub in Logan City Council's 2020-2021 budget ensures it is supporting one of the city's fastest growing areas.
Council made a funding commitment to the hub, which will provide community support in the booming suburb, in its budget, which was announced on Monday.
Flagstone is expected to have a population of about 120,000 in the next 30 years, with 50,000 houses planned for the area.
Cr Laurie Koranski said a feasibility study had identified Flagstone needs.
"The detailed design of this facility will allow council to plan for the future delivery of a space for the community to gather and connect, with easy access to various services," Cr Koranski said.
"The community hub will be a first for Flagstone and shows council's commitment to future infrastructure for the suburb, which thousands of Logan residents already call home."
A parcel of land will be transferred to council from the Peet development later this year for the hub which will be built by 2022.
Council has also allocated an additional $1.5 million over the next three years for sports park embellishments in Flagstone and Yarrabilba.
