A new primary school is coming to Greenbank in 2022.
The school will take in children from Greenbank, North Maclean and the greater Flagstone Priority Development Area.
It follows the opening of Yarrabilba State Secondary College earlier this year.
Logan MP Linus Power welcomed the news of another school in the quickly growing area.
"This is a very exciting day for the local community of Greenbank which we know is rapidly growing," Mr Power said.
"This school is one of three new schools in the Logan electorate and shows the Palaszczuk government's commitment to quality education.
"It will be terrific to see local families walking to their new school from term 1, 2022."
The school will bring more jobs for local people, Mr Power said.
"A significant benefit for our local economic recovery is that this project will support up to 220 local jobs - creating significant employment opportunities for local tradies and subcontractors," he said.
Jordan MP Charis Mullen said it was a great day for the Greenbank community.
"This is really great for local families and for those who are choosing to make Greenbank their home, and I look forward to seeing this new school spring up from the ground," she said.
"We've seen just how quickly this development area has expanded and a new primary school will help deliver the infrastructure needed to support this growing community."
Division 11 councillor Natalie Willcocks said news of the school was a win for families in her area, but there would be other benefits, too.
"It will provide more employment opportunities for people," Cr Willcocks said.
"That would be awesome to see.
"This has been a long time coming. It is great to see they have given us an opening date.
"We are the fastest growing area in all of Logan city."
