A Jimboomba man has had his car impounded and police say more is to come as they continue their tough crackdown on hoons.
The man had his Holden Commodore ute confiscated and will face charges in Beenleigh Magistrates Court after he was arrested on July 6.
He had been spotted doing burnouts in Boronia Heights the previous day, and he was reported to the Hoon Hotline by a member of the public, who also took a picture of his car.
Police visited his Jimboomba house where they arrested him and took his car away.
"We got the information from a member of the public, and we were able to target the area, identify the vehicle, and then we took it," Jimboomba officer in charge, Senior Sergeant Peter Waugh, said.
"We took the car within a 48-hour period."
The man, 20, has been charged with wilfully making unnecessary noise or smoke, and will front court in November.
"We are seeking to have his car forfeited," Senior Sergeant Waugh said.
The man's arrest comes on the back of an incident last month where a New Beith hoon's car was towed.
Police said that driver was caught hooning on his own street.
The 23-year-old was due to front Beaudesert Magistrates Court this month.
Officers warned more was to come.
"Everyone has had a gut full of hoons," Senior Sergeant Waugh said.
"We have been saying for a long time, stop hooning or we'll take your car, but they are not taking us seriously.
"We have been trying to educate them, but they are not listening.
"If you continue to hoon, we will take hunt you down, and we will take your car."
Senior Sergeant Waugh said the public had a part to play in helping police track down offenders.
"We are always after timely, accurate, good information - we will act on it," he said.
"We are still asking the public to report it."
Senior Sergeant Waugh declined to single out one area where burnouts and loud cars had become a nuisance for residents.
"It's a problem right across Logan," he said.
