An upgrade to the northbound lanes of Jimboomba Creek Bridge is expected to be finished next week.
More than 50 concrete decks weighing up to 33 tonnes each have been lifted into place to create two new lanes built to withstand heavy rainfall in the flood-prone area.
The bridge is expected to be finished on Monday, July 6.
Logan MP Linus Power said once the final stages are complete, traffic would divert onto the new link and crews would focus their attention on upgrades to the southern bridge.
"Projects like this are important, because our community wants better roads and jobs at a time we need them most," Mr Power said.
"This $20 million upgrade is supporting 62 jobs and will be joined by another $37.5 million investment, announced as part of the Palaszczuk government's recent $400 million road stimulus package."
