Update, 5pm:
A man injured in a two vehicle traffic crash on the Mount Lindesay Highway at Veresdale has been taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The man suffered leg injuries and was accompanied by a critical care paramedic for the trip to hospital.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crew remains on scene.
No update from police on road conditions but traffic was still backed up in both directions at 4.30pm.

EMERGENCY services are attending the scene of a two vehicle crash on the Mount Lindesay Highway this afternoon.
The accident happened near Caswell Road and Worendo Street.
A spokeswoman for Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said three crews had responded to the incident, with the first arriving about 4.05pm
Firefighters used hydraulic cutting tools to free a man who was trapped in his vehicle.
Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics are currently treating the man for leg injuries, said a QAS spokeswoman.
The Queensland Police Service have advised motorists that the Mount Lindesay Highway is blocked in both directions.
