A Logan Central woman is due to face court today after a car accident on the Gold Coast yesterday.
The woman, 19, and a 22-year-old Currumbin Waters man were in a BMW which crashed in a tram at Broadbeach.
The accident happened just before 2pm when the car hit the tram, which was travelling south on the Gold Coast Highway.
After the accident, the man allegedly threatened a bystander, demanding to be driven from the scene.
When the woman refused, police allege the BMW driver became violent, grabbing her by the wrist and pulling her arm behind her back before pulling a gel blaster from his bag.
The man and woman fled on foot.
Four people gave chase, catching the man and holding him down until police arrived.
The BMW was allegedly stolen from Woodridge yesterday.
The 19-year-old woman has been charged with unlawful use of a vehicle and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court.
The 22-year-old man will also appear in Southport Magistrates Court, charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of assault, deprivation of liberty and weapons offences.
