Voters have taken advantage of deserted polls today as they decide who will make up Logan City Council.
Polls at Greenbank and Jimboomba were quiet early on, and voters were happy they didn't have to wait as the threat of coronavirus hung over the election.
They were also happy about not candidates' representatives handing out pamphlets at polls, calling for the practice to be adopted for all elections.
Greenbank voters Grant and Katie Smith took extra precautions before heading out, but it was not needed in the end.
"You feel a bit crazy wearing gloves, and I was going to wear a mask, but then when you come here, no one's here," Mr Smith said.
"It was the easiest one we have ever voted in," Mrs Smith said.
Mr Smith suggested running the poll outside.
"if they put it outside, people might feel a bit different about it," he said.
"You can space them out in the car park."
It was a bit busier at Jimboomba State School, but there still no queues for voters.
"We just walked straight in and straight out," Karen Cole said.
"The nicest thing I've found is not being bombarded by people."
Cheyenne Harris said she practice should be adopted for future elections.
"They should make it a permanent thing," she said.
Brandon Cole enjoyed the quieter atmosphere.
"in the last couple of years when we have come here, people have said to come early, but there's no one here," he said.
