Logan City Council will close its nine libraries from Monday to fight the spread of coronavirus.
Council announced today that the shutdown was until further notice to protect the health and safety of its staff and the community.
The libraries will close from midday.
A council spokesman said it was a tough but necessary measure.
"This was a decision not taken lightly by council and was done in the interest of community well-being and safety," the spokesman said.
All items on loan are due back on June 30, 2020.
Logan City Council Library staff will be available to provide assistance over the telephone and can be contacted by phoning your local library.
Online services including e-books and audiobooks; streaming TV, movie and music services, digital subscriptions to newspapers and magazines are available through the Logan Library's eResources webpage.
