POLICE have commended a man for his bravery after he tacked an alleged break and enter offender to the ground at Yarrabilba on Thursday morning.
Police were called to a chemist at Yarrabilba at 6.43am after reports of an alleged break and enter to the business.
On police arrival they found a vehicle containing three alleged offenders.
At the business, police spoke with a witness who had approached the men while they were in the store and managed to conduct a citizen's arrest to restrain a fourth offender until officers arrived.
The men reportedly entered the business after breaking the front glass doors, took items from the business and tried to flee the shop.
When they passed a local community member, he was able to tackle one of them to the ground.
Sergeant Nathan Booth from Logan Village Yarrabilba Station said it was a courageous effort from the man.
"Combined with a quick response from the local responding officers from Logan Village Yarrabilba Police Station (it resulted) in the arrest of all four alleged offenders," Sergeant Booth said.
"We would like to remind the community to always report suspicious behaviour to police as soon as possible."
A 20-year-old Caboolture man has been charged with two counts of breaking and entering and was due to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Thursday.
A 24-year-old man and 18-year old man both from Kingston and a 21-year-old Logan Reserve man are helping police with their inquiries.
Investigations are continuing.
