THE countdown to St Patrick's Day will begin with a special Irish themed festival at Willawong next month and organisers are calling on people from all over the south-east to take in the unique atmosphere.
The event, held annually and hosted by Queensland Gaelic Football and Hurling Association, will feature live Irish music and dancing, a pipe band, Gaelic sports exhibitions and an all day licensed bar and barbecue.
Entry is $10 for adults and free for kids, who will also be given access to free rides. No eskies or dogs are permitted to enter the venue.
The Family Festival Day will be held at 308 Bowhill Road on Sunday, March 8 from 10.30am to 6.30pm.
