TRAFFIC has been stalled after a crane rolled over at Tamborine just before 7am today.
A spokeswoman for Queensland Ambulance Service said paramedics responded to a call at 6.49am.
She said the driver, a man in his 30s, sustained head injuries and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said they received the call just before 7am and arrived to find a crane blocking traffic at Beaudesert Beenleigh Road near Boomerang Road at Tamborine.
A QFES spokeswoman said one Fire and Rescue crew and one rural fire crew attended the scene and laid Chemsorb on the road to mop up fluid leaking from the crane.
A spokeswoman for Queensland police has advised that the area was closed to traffic and would be for some hours.
Investigations continue.
