SCHOOLS across the Scenic Rim are closed today after floodwaters across the region yesterday caused schools and businesses to close early.
An Education Department spokesperson said all school communities in flood affected areas were urged to remain vigilant and keep up-to-date with the latest weather warnings and alerts.
"Safety and access assessments are ongoing this morning," the spokesperson said.
"Information on Queensland state school closures can be found at closures.det.qld.gov.au.
"The school closures website is dynamic and is updated based on the latest information.
"Schools will update parents and caregivers through their usual communication channels.
"Parents, families and children are urged to not take risks, and be especially cautious around floodwater, or swift flowing water.
"Remember: If it's flooded, forget it."
