Man rescued from floodwater

A man was rescued from rising floodwater at Waterford today..
Fire crews rescued the man from Daisy Creek off Waterford Tamborine Road at 1pm.
Paramedics treated the man, who did not require hospitalisation.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said three crews were called to the scene.
After walking the man out of the water, swift water crews re-entered to secure the vehicle.

The Mount Lindesay Highway is now closed.
Motorists can still take Tamborine Road, Edelsten Road and Camp Cable Road.
11.45am Friday
Jimboomba Creek has burst its banks and water is over the Mt Lindesay Highway.
It is expected to peak at 2pm.
Bannan inspects super cross track

Scott Bannan says he is thinking about turning his super cross event at Jimboomba into a jet ski race.
Mr Bannan was inspecting the track on College Drive this morning.
It resembled a lake, with almost no track sight, thanks to the heavy rain.
"This will put the preparations back a bit," he said while standing in knee-deep water.
UPDATE 9.30am Friday
WATER is over the road on the Mount Lindesay Highway after yesterday's torrential rain.
It is flooded between Camp Cable Road and Johanna Street.
According to the Transport Department, flooding is also affecting roads at Browns Plains, Springwood and Sunnybank to the north, Canungra to the south and around Moogerah to the west.

Logan River still rising
The Logan River is still rising, but is well under the Mount Lindesay Highway at Maclean Bridge.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology's River Height Bulletin, the river is still more than seven metres below the approaches of the bridge at 8pm.
Henderson Creek at Cusack Lane is falling, and is less than half a metre over the road surface.
Schmidt's Creek is rising at Schmidt's Road, and is 0.62m above the road at Logan Reserve.
At Logan Village, the river is listed as steady.
At Rathdowney, it is more than nine metres deep and the bureau says it is on the rise.

HEAVY rains east have not let up with roads flooded and motorists trapped in traffic.
Scenic Rim Mayor Greg Christensen issued a message this afternoon.
"The heavy rain is continuing across wide parts of the region," he said.
"Our latest advice from the Bureau of Meteorology says this will continue for some time. There are flood warnings now in place for many of our river systems.
"It is imperative to consider NOW your situation. If you do not need to be on the roads, please don't travel. Remember if it's flooded, forget it."
Cr Christensen said some people were already isolated.
"Please do not try to move if you are at risk call 000. Otherwise stay dry and in place," he said.
"If you are unable to safely travel to collect children from school please contact your school now to discuss options.
"If you are away from home, consider your travel route and any risks for localised flooding.
"Council is unable verify information for every road situation, however with ongoing heavy rain, please expect causeways and some bridges to be cut off soon, if not already.
"Again if you identify a hazardous situation do not proceed. Anyone who finds themselves cut off and feels at risk, should call 000."

Hinchliffe Bridge at Kooralbyn is underwater and impassable, while motorists at Tabragalba are unable to pass Beaudesert Nerang Road which went underwater earlier today.
Other affected roads include Boonah Rathdowney Road / Mt Alford Road at Dugandan, Beaudesert Boonah Road at Coulson, Mutdapilly Churchbank Weir Road at Peak Crossing, Fm Bell Road at Mt Alford and Newman Road at Maroon.
Albert and Logan river catchments warning
Authorities have also issued a flood warning for the Albert and Logan rivers as water levels continue to rise.
Rapid rising has occurred across both catchments, and with further rain predicted tonight, more flooding is expected.
Since 9am yesterday, about 100-150mm has been recorded in the lower catchments.
A further 30-50mm has fallen in places this morning.
Armstrong Road, Beaudesert-Nerang Road, Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road and Veresdale Scrub Road are cut.
Mundoolun Road is inundated, along with Beaudesert-Boonah Road, Cedar Grove Road, Collins Creek, Undullah Road, Tremayne Road, Mona Drive and Rossmore Road.
The roadworks at Waterford Tamborine Road at Logan Village are underwater.
Stoney Camp Road is underwater, and a senior police officer had a stern warning for anyone stupid enough to drive through floodwaters.
"It's actually an offence to drive past the road closed signs," Acting Senior Sergrant Adrian Burns said.
"It is risking people unnecessarily."
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe storm warning.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours.
Locations which may be affected include Mount Tamborine, Tamborine, Coomera, Hope Island, South Stradbroke Island and Jacobs Well.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.
