The Mustangs Brothers Rugby League Football Club are looking for more players to sign on the dotted line this season.
The club will have the sausages sizzling and the drinks cold for a sign-on day on Saturday and representatives are urging anyone interested to get to their Chambers Flat headquarters and check out the facilities.
The sign-on day starts at 10am at the club's premises on Kenny Road, Chambers Flat.
The club will field 18 teams from under sixes to open men's and women's.
The Mustangs play in the top three divisions of the Rugby League Brisbane competition.
The club is passionate about player safety, secretary Ali Voigt said.
The youngsters would be enrolled in the NRL's TackleSafe program to prepare them for full-contact footy in the second half of the under sevens competition.
"Parents can be confident their child's safety is being looked after," Voigt said.
Club members worked on improvements to facilities in the off-season. Cubicles have been installed in the showers, and the dugouts have bench seating.
A gym is also being installed for players to use.
"We're making small improvements," Voigt said.
The club's jerseys are being redesigned and the signage upgraded.
Mustangs secretary Ali Voigt said the club's focus was on building a community feel.
"I think that's where we're drawing the numbers in," she said.
"Each player isn't just a number here. Even though the numbers are growing, we keep things personal.
"People like it when they know your name at the club."
Coaching co-ordinator Geoff Burr said the club has also took some steps off the field to help its players.
"In 2019, the club heavily invested in a range of off-field initiatives, bringing in key note speakers for presentations on mental health, leadership and conflict resolution," he said.
"These initiatives continue to build the foundations of a positive club culture and planning is underway for more off field initiatives for the 2020 season."
The club was on the way to having another strong year. President Jamie Haldane said online registrations were pleasing, and indicated another growth trend for membership.
In 2019, the club received a $150,000 federal government grant to upgrade the lighting at its facility.
The club installed LED lighting at the end of the 2019 season.
