An armed thief stole money from a Crestmead tobacco store last night.

The man threatened the male attendant with a sharp implement, demanding money, at about 10.40pm.

He removed the till drawer and fled the store. The attendant was not injured.

The man was seen getting into the passenger's side of a small, dark SUV parked in Quandong Street.

He is described as caucasian appearence 175cm tall, with dark eyes and a medium build.

He was wearing a black balaclava, grey long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and sneakers.

Police urge anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.
