A Jimboomba sporting group will throw open the doors of its organisation as it chases more volunteers in 2020.
Crowson Park Riding for the Disabled will host an open day on February 18 to recruit more people to help out.
Club members will be on hand to show people around the Crowson Ln facility at 129 Crowson Ln, Greenbank from 9.30am-11.30am.
They will provide paperwork to anyone interested in coming on board.
The club is run entirely by volunteers, and operates on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during school terms, but closes for summer.
It aims to improve strength, balance and mobility for disabled riders through traditional horse riding training. The activities also develop self esteem and personal achievement.
Volunteer tasks include paddock cleaning, clearing fallen branches and sidewalking, where volunteers help support riders while they are on the horse.
They also clean riding equipment which has been donated to the club.
"We don't only cater for riders," club president and coach Linda Gaffaney said.
"We have people with disabilities who come along and help clean up the paddocks.
"Any used tack that we get, if it's something we can't use, we clean it up and sell it.
"We are completely volunteer run. We don't get any funding."
Horse training is provided. Gaffaney said there was one requirement for volunteers.
"Our volunteers do need to have good fitness levels as our lessons involve lots of walking," she said.
The club won the Davida Steele Memorial Award for Outstanding Community Organisation in 2017.
"We were stoked to get that," Gaffaney said.
More than 20 children and adults attend the program each week.
"While our riders are mounted on their horse we use games and props to encourage different movements," Gaffaney said.
"On the two days, we have roughly 26 children and adults that attend the program that is set out for them for the year. We are unable to offer one-off rides."
Those who sign up on the open day will be buddied up with a volunteer to show them the ropes on the next riding day on February 25.
