Australia's fastest ever sprinter, Patrick Johnson, will swap track spikes for cricket whites as he takes his place in Scott Bannan's team for the Pink Stumps cricket day on February 1.
Johnson, the man who holds the Australian and Oceanic 100 metre record time of 9.93 seconds, will join a host of sporting stars in Bannan's team to take on the Jimboomba Bushrangers at Glenlogan Park.
Beaudesert boxing ace Clay Waterman, a world champion and Olympic Games bronze medallist, is in Bannan's team.
He will join Australian motocross champion Todd Waters, who is a Husqvarna Factory team rider.
Former Brisbane Bronco Michael Hancock, who won five grand finals with the team, will play.
Former North Queensland Cowboy Brenton Bowen is also in Bannan's team
The captain, a three time muay Thai world champion and hall of fame member, was in awe of the sporting prowess in his team.
"It's sensational, the way so many elite athletes from different sports have come together, to fully support people who are getting cancer."
"Mick's from the past. I'm from the past. Clay's from the future."
He also paid tribute to the business community for its support in sponsoring the day.
"It really is an incredible little community we've got here," he said.
"It's uplifting. It makes you restore your faith in humanity a bit."
Logan MP Linus Power are among the local contingent in Bannan's team.
He looked forward to strapping the pads on, but was not sure of his cricket prowess.
"I'll be embarrassing myself for a good cause," Mr Power said.
They will take on the Jimboomba Bushrangers team, captained by Rodney Teese, in the fourth annual Pink Stumps Day.
Sheffield Shield and Big Bash League umpire Damien Mealey will officiate the match.
