EB GAMES Cleveland will close this weekend, as the gaming giant moves to axe 19 unprofitable stores around Australia.
An EB Games spokesman did not say which stores would close but signs posted outside the Cleveland store confirm its last trading day will be Saturday, January 18.
Cleveland Central Shopping Centre has also been removed from the company's store locator database.
A leaked email said a further four Queensland stores at Inala, Bribie Island, Underwood and Lutwyche were on the chopping block.
The remaining Redlands stores at Victoria Point and Capalaba were not earmarked for closure.
"Like all businesses, we are constantly evaluating our property portfolio to ensure that our stores mix is in-line with the ever changing retail landscape," an EB Games spokesman said.
"After careful consideration, we will be closing 19 unprofitable stores at the end of January."
The spokesman said where possible, staff impacted by the closures were offered jobs at stores in the surrounding area.
The closures come as EB Games push to open stores in conjunction with sister company Zing Pop Culture.
"These hybrid stores, combined with our strong omni-channel offering, six million loyalty members and 300-plus locations across Australia, will see EB Games continue to be one of Australia's largest speciality retailers," the spokesman said.
The Redlands' only hybrid store is located at Capalaba Central Shopping Centre.
