NOW and Zen Community Op Shop has opened a pop-up stall in an old butchers shop at Aratula.
The op shop at 6728 Cunningham Highway is being run by Andy Mabey and Wendy Deering.
Ms Mabey said they had the idea after attending a charity event at the local pub last Friday.
"We saw the effect of all the fires and we talked to some of the locals," she said.
"We knew we wanted to do something to help the local farmers and since we had heaps of excess stock we thought a pop-up op shop would be a good idea.
"We rang the owner of the old butcher shop and arranged to use the premises.
"Any money made will go to local farmers, we will speak to the pub owner who can tell us who we can help."
Ms Mabey said the shop opened today with clothes, bric-a-brac, jewellery, books and crystals on offer and eftpos facilities available.
"We are hoping to be here for at least six weeks and maybe even longer," she said.
