QFES advises that at 11.25am a large bushfire was burning in inaccessible land in the Mount Barney National Park area, near Mount May, Mount Maroon, Mount Lindesay and Palen Creek.
The fire continues to burn near the Queensland and New South Wales border.
QFES and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service crews along with NSW Rural Fire Service crews will continue to monitor this fire and strengthen containment lines throughout the day.
Waterbombing aircraft and heavy machinery will also be operating in the area. This fire is burning on multiple fronts within Mount Barney National Park.
There are no longer separate warnings for Mount May, Mount Maroon, Mount Barney, Mount Lindesay and Palen Creek. Residents in these areas should refer to this warning.
The Mount Barney National Park remains closed to the public until further notice.
Traffic restrictions are in place on Hardgrave Road and Old Mount Lindesay Road, Mount Lindesay.
Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions as there may be hazards, such as fallen trees, as a result of this fire.
The Mount Lindesay Highway is now open with reduced speed limits. This fire is expected to burn for several days.
People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.
Properties are not under direct threat at this time. Call Triple Zero (000) immediately if you believe you or your property is under threat.

THE bushfire burning in Mount Barney National Park is still active and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises people in the area to stay up to date and decide what actions to take should the situation change.

This fire was burning near the Queensland and New South Wales border.

. If you do not have a bushfire survival plan, or if your plan is to leave, identify where you will go if the situation changes.
. Close windows and doors to minimise smoke exposure.
. If you suffer from a respiratory condition, keep your medication close by.
. Drive with caution in low visibility conditions.
. Contact your neighbours to see if they need help preparing for the bushfire.
. Consider finding your essential items (e.g., identification documents, prescription medication, food and water, and protective clothing such as a long-sleeved cotton shirt and trousers, and boots) in case you need to leave.
. Consider what you will do to protect your pets and livestock.
. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
. Advise family and friends of your intended actions if the situation changes.
