TIME is running out to nominate a candidate for Logan's top citizen with the deadline closing next week.
Logan City Council crowns winners of the prestigious Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year awards on Australia Day, January 26.
The awards recognise people who serve their community with pride and make Logan a better place to live.
Last year's Young Citizen of the Year Charlie Johnstone won the accolade for collecting unsold bread from retailers and packaging it for distribution to people in need.
Mr Johnstone is an intellectually gifted Canterbury College student, who recently had lunch with NASA astronauts after winning an academic contest.
He said winning the Young Citizen of the Year award was a great honour.
"I'd encourage anyone who knows someone who is making a difference in our community to nominate," he said.
All category winners are selected by an independent committee and nominations close on Friday, December 6.
Nomination forms can be found on Logan City Council's website.
