Since opening four years ago, Simon Says Hobbies and Games has built it's own thriving community.

The Browns Plains store hosts regular hobby nights and build groups to help build customer loyalty.

"We are involved in the community through our hobby nights which are held on the first Friday of the month, and the Gundam Build Meets held on the third Saturday of the month," said owner/operator Simon Waite.

"These events are both free and provide an opportunity for any modeler in the community to join similar people to share modeling tips and ideas."

Simon and his small, dedicated team often hold popular fun competitions such as identical kit competitions or speed builds which often coincide with displays in the Logan West Library where local modelers can showcase their work.

Simon originally opened the store to provide an opportunity for customers to enjoy more traditional hobbies including model railways, model kits and tabletop and board games.

"We offer a range of hobby products aimed at the model maker, which includes paints, tools, landscape scenery, scratch building supplies and model kits.

"Our railway products are aimed at those wanting to make their first model railway as well as the seasoned railway enthusiast.

"We provide advice and can provide design services for those who want to jump in at the deep end."

Simon Says also stocks an extensive range of traditional and contemporary board games.

Simon has always had a passion since he was young for models and this made it easy to follow this line of business.

"But it's our customers passion for their hobbies that sustains my passion for the business.

"There is nothing better than a customer coming in and thanking you for recommending a game or model, and it's even better when they come in and tell you about the last family games night," he said.

Simon also recognises that the absolute best value for the customer is essential and will price match products where possible.
